Patricia Anyamele

My name is Patricia Anyamele, a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. My experience encompasses practice in psychiatry; diagnosis, treat, and prescribe medication for children, adolescents, and adults. Some of my practice specialties include (but not limited to) ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Insomnia.
I began my medical career in social work, with master’s degree in social, working with the Department of Children and Families. After spending time working with abused children with medical and emotional problems, I realized this was my passion. I then decided to continue my education and received second degree in Nursing in 2013 with Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing at the University of Miami. I then continued with my graduate studies at The University of Alabama and received a master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatric Mental Health and became a board-certified Nurse Practitioner.
Over the course of fifteen years of medical practice, I have been privileged to have worked as a nurse for about 15 years with experiences in ICU-PCU Step Down Unit, Community Health, in local colleges and high schools, and psychiatric in-patient unit, with adolescents and adults.
My special areas of interest are obesity and emotional eating, post-traumatic stress disorder, abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual), stress-related disorders, and their relationship with mood and overall health. My main area of interest is the mind, body, and spiritual connection pertaining to their relationship and role in one’s health and healing. I have always enjoyed helping people and finds my work very rewarding.
My hobbies include traveling, gardening, cooking, reading, and taking long walks.
