Lerae Hill is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who is dual certified as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.  She will mark her 20th year in the nursing field in 2024.

 

Lerae graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Cum Laude, from Purdue Global University (formerly Kaplan University), a Master’s degree in Nursing from South University, and a Post-Masters in Psychiatric Nursing from Wilkes University.  She values education and enjoys passing on her knowledge to others.  Lerae has worked in several areas of nursing including geriatrics, obstetrics, primary care, and now psychiatry.  She is licensed in both Florida and Georgia.

 

Lerae is currently a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at DRT Behavioral Services.  She can diagnose and treat individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, ADHD, and PTSD.  She provides medication management and can prescribe medication across the lifespan.  She also rounds on patients at skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.  She has found a new passion in helping those with emotional and mental health issues and she provides holistic nursing care to our patients. 

 

In addition to working at DRT, Lerae is an adjunct faculty clinical instructor for nursing students at Miami Dade College. She believes in imparting her nursing knowledge and skills as well as mentoring novice nurses learning the profession.  She is an active member of several organizations including the American Nurses Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network, and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

 

Lerae was recently married, and she enjoys listening to music, dancing, and roller skating.
